CHALLENGE

Bolivar Peninsula, northeast of Galveston Island, is a narrow, 27 mile stretch of land made up of five small communities: Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, Gilchrist, Caplen, and High Island. Although Bolivar is home to a few permanent residents, the area relies heavily on seasonal tourism. Currently, the peninsula does not display a clear system. The area is in need of a collective brand identity that is consistent across each of the five communities. With one identity that spans across the whole of the peninsula, Bolivar will be able to offer an experience to tourists like never before.

APPROACH

Creating a cohesive system for the entirety of Bolivar Peninsula, while supporting each of the five communities. The system will create a sense of establishment and organization for Bolivar. Pulling inspiration from the immense wildlife and history of this area, an identity is created that appeals to both residents and tourists.
