As a visual designer, one may take on a client to create brand marks, album covers, or merchandise for a musical talent, but design does not have to be confined to just that. Creating a conference to explore ways to incorporate design into other aspects of performance can bring together all reaches of the music industry, including makeup artists, set designers, lighting designers, choreographers, and stylists, intertwining each focus area with one another. This case study looks to find a way to successfully bring these profesionals together and teach visual designers about performance from the designer’s perspective.
